Managing Partners

Western Drilling LLC DBA The Pump Company is grounded by our highly knowledgeable and experience managing partners. The three of them have dedicated their life to this industry and with that they bring undeniable expertise to the company. They have continuously taught their skills to the employees under them and have ensured the company will continue to bring excellent skills and customer service to all those we work with.

Bill Wood

Bill is a second-generation drilling and pump design specialist, with over 35 years of experience in the water well industry. Bill’s father was a successful man in the industry for over 50 years and Bill grew up from a young age learning the right way to take care of customers and what it took to be a leader in the industry. He lives by the quote his father told him, “as long people drink water, we will have a job” – knowing how essential water is in all our day to day activities, Bill ensures that every customer we work with is properly equipped to receive water. Bill started Western Drilling Co. LLC dba The Pump Company in 1992 after gaining knowledge and becoming an expert in the industry. Through Bill's hard work and expertise, the company has grown into the organization it is today.

Jason Holzgrafe

Jason stepped into the industry in 1997, starting as a driller’s helper and then chose to move to the domestic pump service and repair side of the business as an installation technician. Jason has continued his education in the industry by attending many manufacture schools for designing and maintaining the pump systems our company has to offer. He is an expert in his field and genuinely enjoys being able to provide the customer with their best options. Jason has continued to grow as an individual in his career. More importantly, since day one Jason has ensured that the company was successful and continued to grow as well. In 2008, after helping the company build its first commercial drill rig, expand the customer base, and manage a growing company he was made a full partner of the business. Jason has always been one to “get it done”, although he is a managing partner he will get out there with his crew and lead by example – he will work hours on end to ensure our customers are well taken care of, happy, and with water.

Chad Cahill

Chad has been working hard in the industry since 2000, where he started as a helper on the pump truck. Through his hard work and dedication, he became an operations manager, overseeing the quality control and scheduling of the crews. Chad’s passion for the industry tremendously grew and he wanted to be an expert within the industry, not only on the pump side but on the drilling side too. This passion and desire drove Chad to learn everything he could, he traveled across the states sharpening his skills, finetuning his understanding, and absorbing knowledge – Chad is not one to be content and settle, he day in and day out continues to better himself, his crew and the company. He is continuing to study, to gain more knowledge, help more customers, and continue to lead in the industry. He was one of the first to successfully run top of the line and new coming rigs in the industry – the Foremost DR, he has worked on high profile jobs for the government, worked with mines throughout the states, and overall jobs of all sizes. He has indisputable work ethic, knowledge and skills and in 2020 he became a full partner with Western Drilling Co. LLC dba The Pump Company.
